Abstract

People’s protests in all modern societies take place, of course, the type of protests is not necessarily the same in each country and they can be a protest against the present situation such as inflation, unemployment and ………
and/ or a protest against obtaining benefits or concessions like the presence of women in particular professions and positions. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, protests in the framework of street presence are legal and legitimate actions in a
way that Article 27 of the constitution explains that “ Formation of communities and demonstrations without carrying weapons provided that they are not against Islamic principles, is free”.
But during some periods in our country, like the
years 88, 96 and 98 some people, under the cover of protest, committed crimes and vandalized public properties. The aim of this research is to investigate this issue because these people committed wrongdoings which eventually ended up
in the radicalization of protests. In this research, the researcher, in response to the question that why certain people committed crimes in street protests, relying on institutionalized anomy and public pressure and through analysis of
secondary data from previous studies and quantitative studies of the researcher using survey and SPSS tool, concluded that an important part of people in the Iranian Society mentally and objectively experience social and economic
pressures in different levels and these pressures will eventually be followed by committing serious and petty crimes.
