The forty-day Sacred Defense of Iran against the United States and the Zionist regime in 2026 marked a turning point in West Asian security dynamics and reflected fundamental changes in the Security nature of contemporary threats and geopolitical rivalries. Although the U.S. method of warfare proved ineffective, understanding its repeated failures requires a precise grasp of the violations of U.S. security measures and approaches. Despite tactical successes by the United States and the Zionist regime, the war with Iran became the greatest catastrophic strategic defeat and the biggest foreign policy mistake of the United States, where choosing means before defining Security strategic goals was doomed to failure and deadlock. Therefore, to mitigate the security threats posed by these belligerents, the lessons learned from the third Sacred Defense and the identification of its strategic dimensions are essential for reducing security threats. Hence, this article attempts to identify and introduce all the main dimensions of deterrence that altered the outcome of the war. Among these, six key dimensions were introduced: "mosaic and asymmetric defense, active regional diplomacy with China and Russia, reinforcement of air defense systems and smart defense, strengthening and supporting the Axis of Resistance, the balancing card of the Strait of Hormuz, and cognitive technology in manipulating audience perception." By leveraging these, Iran managed to establish the necessary deterrence. The findings of this research, in addition to explaining each of these key dimensions, help policymakers and researchers propose appropriate strategies for managing emerging security threats.
