Presenting a model of the interactive roles of the police and local authorities in preventing crime (Case study: Ilam Province)

Background and purpose: The inability of the professional police to respond to the maintenance of order and security of the society and the increasing number of crimes due to the increase in the population and the increase in the demands of the people in the world led to a new era called community-oriented policing or conducting policing since the 1970s. It should be started with the participation of the people. Based on this, the present research aims to investigate the role of the police and local trustees in preventing crime (case study: Ilam city.(
Research method: This research is descriptive-correlation and applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population of the present study includes all the trustees in Ilam city who have direct and voluntary cooperation with the police force and participate in the public assistance organization of the police force. These people were identified through police stations and outposts (COP) and were selected based on a sampling of 105 people to answer the questions of the questionnaire. The snowball method was used for sampling in this research, and a researcher-made questionnaire was also used to collect information. In order to standardize the questionnaire, first its validity was approved by the professors and then its reliability was measured using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which is equal to 0.869. In order to analyze the collected data, the statistical method of Pearson correlation test was used.
Findings: The results of the descriptive statistics of the questionnaires show that the impact of the role of the police and trustees in preventing crime (case study of Ilam city) is 0.368 in the discussion of the education of trustees, 0.487 in the economic discussion, and 0.398 in mediation.
Conclusion: The general result of this research indicates that it is possible to succeed by planning and determining the appropriate educational, economic and mediation role for trustees in order to ensure order and security and prevent crime and The role of the police and trustees in preventing crime has been evaluated positively.
