Abstract
Tourism has become one of the largest growing economic sectors in the world. The police in the northern provinces of the country (Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan) instead of having special geographical and climatic features, in order to ensure the security of millions of tourists (domestic and foreign), need a standard management model to ensure the safety and security of mass tourism. Therefore, the aim of the current research is to identify the pattern of police management in tourism security in the northern coastal provinces of the country.
Method: The current research has a mixed approach (qualitative, quantitative) and is of an applied type with an exploratory survey research design. The statistical population in the qualitative section includes experts with a master's degree and doctorate with at least 20 years of management experience in Faraja and the field of tourism (maximum 15 people until data saturation is reached), in the quantitative section it includes 15 previous experts and 15 new experts from specialists and Academic experts in the field of law enforcement, security, tourism, who were selected purposefully. In the qualitative part, through a semi-structured interview, and in the quantitative stage, a questionnaire with a five-point Likert spectrum scale was used to explore the final pattern agreed upon by the experts. In order to analyze the qualitative data after implementing the text of the interviews, the technique of theme analysis was used. In the quantitative part, Delphi method and Kendall's coefficient of agreement were used to summarize and analyze the data.
Findings: After carrying out the qualitative steps and two rounds of Delphi, the model of police management in tourism security in the northern coastal provinces of the country was approved with 3 dimensions, 10 components and 45 indicators.
Results: The priority order of the components in terms of their importance in the police management of tourism security is such that the quality of performance has the highest rank and the traffic management of axes has the lowest rank.
